Respectable
(DVD)
This
controversy-courting sitcom is centred on
a brothel and its motley collection of
workers and customers. Originally shown on
Channel 5, Respectable is a hilarious
show, suited to viewers with an eye for
more risque humour.
Jodi
Albert plays Hayley, a dumb hooker with a
heart of gold in this brilliant DVD which
contains the entire first series of
Respectable. Unfortunately, this is likely
to be the only series made as he main
writer and creator of the show, Harry
Thompson, died before it even got to
air.
Respectable
is a surprisingly brilliant show. The
humour is more gentle than you would think
- given the setting. It is a real shame
that this was the last thing Harry
Thompson worked on before his untimely
death but he gave us a great parting gift
with Respectable.
